Interest 2 Income (i2i) is Spread the Love Foundation’s flagship program, focusing on music industry workforce development for youth and young adults throughout Greater Cleveland. Our i2i youth program exposes students ages 13-17 to the different careers in the music industry and helps guide them into their “interests” through education and skills development. The goal of our youth program is to spark interest in creative and business careers in music and expose our youth to the plethora of career opportunities in the industry outside of being the stage talent.
As of February 27th 2024, we are currently activating our “Audio Production & Sound Engineering” track of our i2i program inside of the CCJDC [Cuyahoga County Juvenile Detention Center]. Our 100 level course focuses on career exposure options within the music & entertainment industry, while our 200 level course focuses on skills building in the areas of audio production, sound engineering, and song writing. Coming summer 2024 will be our i2i Youth Diversion Program in association with the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court.
The next phase targeted for summer 2025 will be our i2i young adult program. This program is for ages 18-26 and is focused on developing those interests cultivated in our youth program into viable and sustainable career income. Our 6-month cohort, led by Krayzie Bone and his hand-picked staff of industry professionals, will give expert classroom instruction and hands on work in the studio and in the field. These sessions will concentrate on various facets of the recording industry such as music recording, songwriting, video production, marketing and promotions, as well as copyrights, publishing and contracts.
